A number of these products are now also being used as permanent primary power sources in developed and developing countries spanning 3 continents. In 2010 I was appointed as Sustainability Consultant for PAPA projects, developing and implementing the sustainability strategy for Lovebox Festival (UK) and achieving 2 star Industry Green certification for the event in that same year, one of only 2 large UK festivals to achieve this rating. I am a member of the UK Festival Power Providers Forum and consult on how to reduce UK festival reliance on fossil fuels and how to further integrate the use of renewable power. This was 'cutting edge' as far as the UK Events Industry was concerned at the time and this resulted in me being very involved in the development of BS 8901, Sustainable Event Management System. (I was a committee member for the standard). I have also chaired the UK Association of Event Venues Sustainability group for 6 years which has shared best practise and helped implement change across the UK Event Venues. Earls Court and Olympia we were the first venues to be certified to BS 8901, I implemented the management system for the venues and managed the certification process from our point of view. I am a UK expert for ISO 20121, sitting on the committee that is developing the international standard. I have spoken at over 50 international and UK conferences and seminars on event sustainability and worked with our event organisers to implement and drive change for their events. I have been working at Earls Court and Olympia since 2004 and prior to that was an Event Organiser, organiser an large international event as well as small live events.
