The Sustainable Event Alliance aims to inspire events, organisers, venues and supply chain to the industry to be as sustainable as possible, with a view to Norway being recognised as a sustainable event destination.

Engagement in sustainability is evident within the cultural scene, mainly the festival and events industry. Leading festivals include Øya Festivalen and Hove Festivalen (closed 2014) who are recognised for their leading approach in improving environmental impacts of such events.

You will find that many events and venues register to become eco certified through the Eco Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn) program. Public institutions, venues and organisations can also apply to become certified.

Sustainable Event Alliance encourage events and festival organisers who wish to expand on their current practice, or who are at the start of their  journey, to improve their sustainability outcomes. We wish to reach across to the industry as a whole and engage suppliers, industry associations and other stakeholders to play their part in order for Norway to become a greener events destination.
