The Sustainable Event Alliance aims to inspire events, organisers, venues and supply chain to the industry to be as sustainable as possible, with a view to Norway being recognised as a sustainable event destination.
Environmental sustainability is on the agenda at the Norwegian government, in fylker (regions), kommuner (councils), through members of the public, businesses and organisations who are working together to make Norway a sustainable nation.
This development has become evident within the festival and events industry through festivals such as Øya Festivalen who has been recognised for their leading sustainability initiatives. Similarly, many events have been rewarded with eco labelling through organisations such as Miljøfyrtårn and FEE.
Sustainable Events Alliance wish to inspire events and festival organisers who wish to expand on their current practice or who are at the start of their journey to become environmentally sustainable. We wish to reach across to the industry as a whole and engage suppliers, industry associations and other stakeholders to play their part in order for Norway to become a greener events destination.
