In my role as an Education Facilitator at Positive Impact (a not for profit education project), I provide leading education on sustainability to the event industry.
My key skills for this role include, presenting, preparation and delivery, educational syllabus creation and destination specific programme development.
I have delivered leading education internationally to a wide variety of event industry practitioners, including: Manchester City Council, EIBTM, GIBTM, MCE CEE, Aeris Futuro and IMEX.
I have created the Leeds Metropolitan University and UK Centre for Event Management approved course ‘Sustainable Event Management’ and provided Positive Impact education which has received the London 2012 Inspire Mark.
I have worked with key partners in Manchester to develop the ‘Manchester Sustainable Event Charter’ and an ongoing programme of education to support the development of Manchester as a Sustainable Destination.
In my role at Sustainable Events Ltd (sustainability strategists for the event industry) I provide bespoke support for the implementation of sustainability in the event industry, which includes helping my clients to achieve BS 8901, the British Standard for Sustainable Event Management (future ISO 20121) and report using the GRI Event Organiser Sector Supplement Framework.
My key skills for this role include, developing online tools to support the event industry, onsite monitoring and measuring, implementing BS 8901 (future ISO 20121) and GRI report writing.
I have supported the creation of www.EventSustainability.com and www.rmp.wrap.org.uk, two tools to support the event industry to become more sustainable and manage their impact.
I have provided support for monitoring and measuring with organisations including Zurich Insurance, Google, the Eisteddfod, the PEA Awards and UK Aware.
I have worked with companies including Manchester Utd, Reed Exhibitions, Barbican Centre, AVIVA Stadium and Melville to achieve BS 8901 (future ISO 20121)
I have supported the development of the GRI Event Organiser Sector Supplement and assisted with writing Sustainable Events Ltd’s GRI report.
My previous work experience includes recruitment and managerial roles within the hospitality sector in Europe.
I have completed a BA in Geography and a post-graduate diploma in Events Management and PR. In addition to these qualifications I have received training through Positive Impact on the Phillips Methodology for Return on Investment in Events, using the online tool www.EventSustainability.com
