Once you apply for accreditation you can commence to the next step. Please don't pay for or commence the assessment until your application and pre-requisites have been reviewed and accepted.

  • Five years events sustainability experience
  • Published case study or how-to guide
  • Speaker at industry event
  • SEA Member

How long will it take?

All things being equal, each section would take an hour or two, depending on how quick a thinker and typer you are!

There are five sections, and you can do each section at any time and in any order. You can take as long as you need to complete each section. There is a 'save' option in case you get interrupted. However for safety, if there will be a long break between starting and finishing a section, we advise to you copy your answers into a separate document just in case of IT error!

Steps to assessment

Choose your assessment topic and purchase access

Upon purchasing access you will be redirected to the assessment page.

Complete the assessment

The assessment is online and open-book, and completed through an online form. You will be required to respond to questions and give examples of your work on various topics.

Upon completion, you will receive an email acknowledging our receipt of your assessment submission.  

Peer Review

Once you have completed the competency assessment, your submission will be anonymously reviewed by industry experts.

Please allow three weeks for assessments to be processed. 

Certificate of Competency

Upon a successful assessment, you will receive a certificate of competency. If any clarification of your answers are required by the assessor, we will contact you.
