Details of experience:
Having graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a degree in Conference and Exhibitions management, I wrote my dissertation on the challenges and benefits of implementing sustainability within events venues. This involved 6 months of research and interviews with industry professionals. Much of my university studies have been dedicated to researching and learning about sustainability within the events industry.
I currently work as a sustainability advisor, offering advice, support and education to event industry professionals. This includes helping clients to work through the British Standard for Sustainable Events Management (BS8901), including the creation of sustainability policies, objectives, targets and plans.
I am also responsible for the development, sales and training of Event Sustainability, an online tool used for the measurement of the impacts of an event.
My previous work experience lies within the hospitality and catering industry, where I have worked in the United Kingdom, Australia and Spain.

I have completed a BA in Conference and Exhibitions Management and a HND is Events Management at the UK Centre of Excellence for Events Management at Leeds Metropolitan University. This has helped me expand my knowledge of the events industry and gain invaluable contacts.
