Angie Nevarez is co-founder of the NYC Sustainable Event Alliance chapter and Principal of BATON NYC, a worldwide expert event management company.
Originally from Boulder, Colorado, Angie brings a unique perspective to the NYC event sustainability conversation and a great passion for stewardship. She spent her winters as a ski instructor and summers as an adventure counsellor where she developed her deep love and appreciation of the environment.
Angie began her career 20 years ago in advertising at MTV Networks, then worked with a prominent catering company, where she produced an average of 150 events per year, giving her the opportunity to work in every venue in the tri-state area. Then worked at the American Museum of Natural History and then became the Director of Special Events at the New Museum of Contemporary Art, where she oversaw annual multi-million dollar galas, a new building opening and countless exhibitions.
Angie loves spending time with her young family and is working on a documentary about eminent domain and ski resorts across the USA.
